School Camps

From Year 5 through to Year 12, students are encouraged to participate in class camps and in the structured outdoor education program. Through these programs students develop significant character qualities that encourage them to make a difference in their world.

Year 5

Coffs Coast Camp

Students in Year 5 have a unique opportunity to take part in a hands-on 2 day camp learning about the history, culture and stories of the Aboriginal people. Year 5 students visit historical sites with local elders, sing songs and dance, taste local bush tucker and more.

Year 6

Canberra Camp

Memorable and exciting week long excursion to the nation’s capital Canberra. Students visit a number of iconic attractions including Questacon, Parliament House, National War Memorial and The Mint.

Year 7

Coffs Coast Adventure Camp

Students in Year 7 travel to one of the most exciting school camp venues in NSW for a 3 night stay. The focus of this camp is team building, developing confidence and learning new skills through a range of fun initiatives and activities like the commando course, mega drop and zorb ball.

Year 8

Great Aussie Bush Camp

Year 8 students visit the Great Aussie Bush Camp in Tea Gardens for a 3 day camp which offers a range of fun and challenging outdoor educational activities which encourage grit, perseverance and camaraderie. Highlights of this camp include high ropes course, canoeing, the giant swing and archery.

Year 9

Point Wolstoncroft

Point Wolstoncroft provides a lakeside setting for our Year 9 camp. Students explore the natural environment whilst taking part in fun activities such as sailing, kayaking, ropes course and BMX over the course of 4 days.

Year 10

Fraser Island

One of the most unforgettable experiences many students have during their time at KAS is our Year 10 Fraser Island Camp where students visit the World Heritage Listed site with a stopover on the Gold Coast to visit themeparks. Students hike part of the ‘Great Walk,’ a world-class walking track whilst exploring the surf, sand and stunning scenery the world’s largest sand island has to offer.

Year 11

Urban Challenge Sydney

Senior students take part in a fast-paced adventure throughout a series of checkpoints in Sydney. The challenge is designed to enhance planning, communication and teamwork skills as students race to solve riddles and piece together clues in order to unlock the next challenge in the city.

Year 12

Cambodia Service Trip

A long standing tradition at KAS is our annual service trip to Cambodia. KAS works with local community organisations to complete building projects and fundraising initiatives. This unforgettable trip is truly a life changing experience for our students. International trips are currently on hold.
