Secondary School

Welcome

Students, teachers, parents and carers work in partnership to help ensure the best outcomes and educational experience for students.

We provide an academic program within a supportive and nurturing environment where students are supported and encouraged to achieve their personal goals and aspirations whether that be attaining their best Higher School Certificate results, choosing a career or setting up a pathway for further study after school.

Secondary School

Year 7 - Year 8

We are committed to providing our students with an educational experience that will develop every aspect of their being, focusing not only on what our students achieve, but also on who they are becoming. We believe in developing confident, curious, and compassionate young people who are equipped to thrive both in and beyond the classroom.

Year 9 - Year 10

We believe that education is more than academics – it includes developing the whole person. Students are encouraged to deepen their learning, broaden their interests, and engage more purposefully with the world around them. Through a strong academic foundation, a wide range of extracurricular opportunities, and ongoing spiritual and emotional support, we aim to guide students as they discover their strengths, develop resilience, and take greater ownership of their growth. This kind of education empowers students to make meaningful contributions—both now and into the future.

Secondary School

Year 11 - Year 12

Our Stage 6 curriculum follows the NSW Education Standards Authority (NESA) syllabus and is delivered by experienced, caring, and highly qualified teachers. With a strong track record of guiding students toward academic and personal success, our educators provide more than just instruction—they offer mentorship, support, and inspiration.

The senior years are a time of growth, challenge, and preparation for life beyond school. Our supportive and collaborative learning environment encourages personal accountability, while fostering confidence, independence, and a commitment to excellence. Through engaged teaching, individualised support and tailored learning pathways, we empower students to thrive—now and into the future.

Kempsey Adventist School offers a compressed HSC curriculum model an innovative approach to senior secondary learning that allows students to complete a portion of their HSC subjects and exams in Year 11, with the remaining subjects and exams completed in Year 12. This format offers a more focused, manageable, and less stressful path to HSC success. As one parent shared:

“Our daughter completed two electives in her first year and will complete the rest in her final year. She’s noticeably more focused, less anxious around exam periods, and has greater balance across her studies, work, and social life compared to our other children who followed the traditional path.”

Key Benefits:

  • Focused Learning: Students concentrate on fewer subjects at a time, allowing for deeper understanding and stronger performance.
  • Reduced Exam Stress: Early exposure to HSC exams builds familiarity and confidence, easing anxiety in Year 12.
  • Balanced Lifestyle: With a more manageable workload, students can better balance school, work, and personal interests.
  • Improved Wellbeing: Less pressure in the final year supports mental health and overall student wellbeing.

The compressed HSC model is not just a different way to learn—it’s a smarter way to succeed.

Access to a Distance Education provider may be facilitated by the school for students whose required subjects are not available. Students access a broad curriculum via online platforms, mailed resources, and regular teacher support, with optional Learning Hubs in regional centres providing face-to-face connection.

SBATs allow students to begin a part-time apprenticeship or traineeship while completing their HSC. Students learn on the job with an employer, attend TAFE or another RTO for formal training, and continue their school subjects. SBATs provide paid employment, a nationally recognised qualification, and credit towards the HSC. This is an ideal pathway for students looking to get a head start in their chosen trade or career field.
