Sport

At KAS, we believe that sport plays a vital role in promoting the overall wellbeing of our students. Through weekly sport and carnivals, as well as representative sport (NCIS/CIS), we provide students with the chance to develop their physical and social skills in a positive and engaging environment.

Weekly Sport

To start the school year, students are allocated a variety of sports to generate interests and provide them with a foundation of skills in different sports.

Following this, students are able to choose from a variety of different elective sports which include, but are not limited to, surf lessons at Crescent Head, gym sessions, lawn bowls, basketball, fishing etc.

Primary Sport

At Kempsey Adventist School, sport plays a vital role in promoting teamwork, skill development, and a lifelong love of physical activity. Students from Kindergarten to Year 6 participate in weekly sport sessions designed to build confidence, coordination, and enjoyment through a focus on fundamental movement skills and active participation.

In Secondary School, students begin the year exploring a variety of sports to help them discover their interests and develop a broad foundation of skills. As the year progresses, they can select from a diverse range of elective sports, including surf lessons at Crescent Head, gym sessions, lawn bowls, basketball, fishing, and many more.

Representative Sport

Kempsey Adventist School is associated with North Coast Independent Schools (NCIS) and Combined Independent Schools (CIS).

This association enables students from independent schools to participate in a representative sporting pathway to the State and National level.

Sporting Associations
Kempsey Adventist School is proudly associated with North Coast Independent Schools (NCIS) and Combined Independent Schools (CIS), providing students with opportunities to represent their school at regional, state, and national levels.
Our representative sport program places strong emphasis on basketball, netball, touch football, volleyball, and soccer. Through the NCIS and CIS pathways, students can also pursue selection in a range of individual sports such as tennis, mountain biking, and hockey—ensuring that every student has the opportunity to challenge themselves and compete at higher levels in their chosen sport.

Carnivals

Throughout the school year we run 3 major swimming, cross country and athletic sporting carnivals.

These all provide students the opportunity to advance through to a NCIS/CIS pathway should they wish to compete at a further level.
